Makup Primer

Makeup primer is a very important primary step to some women's makeup routines.
Primer is used to smooth fine lines in the skin giving the appearance of a more evenly textured face and filling in sunken scars in the skin. Makes large pores seem smaller and prevents cosmetics from clogging pores. Gives the benefit of smoother foundation application reducing the appearance of creasing and feathering. While using less foundation and making the product last longer into the day without needing to reapply, money is saved by purchasing new foundation less often. Also acts as a protective base between your skin and makeup. Primer gives the illusion of more natural looking foundation. Good for oily/combination skin, by keeping skin more matte by controlling excess oil. good for sensitive/dry skin by nourishing the skin and calming inflammations. Helps keep skin moisturized and some primers have sunscreen built in to protect from the sun.

There are many different types of primer: eye, lip, face, tinted, transparent, and more.

To use makeup primer, You first start with clean moisturised skin. Before applying foundation, and after eye cream(optional)warm primer in hands then primer should be applied to the whole surface of the face and massaged in. Wait about 2-3 min before adding the next layer of makeup so primer is fully absorbed into skin.

Some of the most popular reliable brands of primer are; Nars($33), smashbox($38), bare escentials($21), laura mercier($30), Lorac($30), Tarte($27),

Some face makeup may draw attention to certain types of scars or blemishes on the skin if no primer is used before hand. If your skin is pretty clear of blemishes you are one of the lucky people out there and a tinted primer can be used without foundation over it, or you could just skip both and go straight to blush or bronzer. If you have certain skin conditions or allergies using primer is not a good idea and may worsen your condition.

If primer is a little to costly for you there are ways to make a DIY primer.

#2. Aloe Vera gel, moist lotion, liquid foundation
#3. moist creme and concealer
